I’m going to tell you 5 tips to improve your LinkedIn experience and make it easier and more fun for you - to get more out of LinkedIn.
My name is Ashley Leeds, I’m the 15-minute guy. I run a workshop to you get more out of LinkedIn in just 15 minutes a day. And it’s this 15 minutes every single day that you can build in to a habit to make LinkedIn work for you.
My mission is to get you to love using LinkedIn and get into a great daily habit because if you do something every single day, you will grow on this amazing platform.

People buy from people they know, like and trust, so the whole idea of having a great LinkedIn profile is so that people can know, like and trust you.
Your photo, your name and your headline all follow you around wherever you go on LinkedIn.
Make sure you use your real name, be memorable and succinct with your headline, and make sure you’ve got a clear, smiling and open face on your profile.
Who would you trust out of all of these photos? I’ve seen all of these photos on LinkedIn.
If your photo appears as number 1, do you have your settings set up correctly?
Number 2 is a cartoon - do we buy from a cartoon?
Number 3, I’m at a party. What kind of message is this giving out?
Number 4 is what we need to be looking at.
Did you know that having a decent photo gives you 21x more profile views, and that is what we want on LinkedIn.
So with your photo, you need to be smiling, you need to be open and you need to be you, you need to be your authentic self.
If you’ve got long hair and you’ve just had it trimmed, let’s have a new photo.
If you’ve taken your beard off, let’s have a photo.
If you wear spectacles, make sure your spectacles are on.
You need to fill your frame - around 60% of the circle because you get smaller.
Have a nice strong background colour, because then you stick out and you become a brand.
When you write comments, people will still see your photo but you’ll be tiny, so if it’s one of you where you’re standing a little bit further back then you’re not going to see all of you, so you’ve got to make sure that that is correct
You’ve got to create your own brand.
My photo has a yellow background, smiley teeth, my polo shirt on, that is me, that is my brand. Not quite McDonald’s, but you can be your own McDonald’s.

On LinkedIn you have a “Contact Info” box.
If you click on that it expands out and there’s loads and loads of information that you can put on there.
You’ve got three spaces for websites - try to use them all with actions for each link.
One of the things I use is Linktree, I’ll link to that later, put in your phone number, put in your birthday.
People will wish you ‘Happy birthday’ and if someone wishes you a happy birthday, you’ve got a reason to talk to them - “thank you very much for the happy birthday message etc.”
It’s no good just putting who you are and where you are, your headline follows you around.
Here are some examples:
“Owner at Full Cup Coaching” - who I am as a business owner
“Business Coach and LinkedIn Trainer” - is my job title at Full Cup Coaching
“I’m the 15-minute guy! Getting you loving LinkedIn in just 15 minutes…” - is what I am all about and it looks intriguing!
I have had people contact me and become a contact of mine because they’ve liked my headline and have clicked on it to find out a little bit more about me, so come up with some great ideas.
There’s so much you can do - be different.
If you’ve got a shop or an office and you have a billboard above your shop, is it blank?
You need people to see exactly what you do.

I link to Canva and a video tutorial on how to get a great banner at the end of the article, it's dead easy.
In your browser, what you need to do is get to your LinkedIn page and then hit the star and bookmark that page.
I also suggest bookmarking a page that tells you how many views you’ve had. I cover all of this in my workshop, but if you’ve got it bookmarked, you can just come in straight away and it’s dead easy.
